Worked with LTC Rice for several years in the IaARNG DOL then DCSLOG. COL Burkhead gave us the task to get our units logistically ready for deployment. Not an easy task to take a unit from peace time status to war ready. In a very short time it just wasn't one unit but almost all units of the IAARNG. Only saw LTC Rice lose his cool once. Iowa units went to the mob stations in much better shape because of LTC Rice. LTC Rice it was an honor to serve and work with you. Blessing to your family RIP Sir!
