Warren Litchkey, Sr.

Warren Litchkey, Sr., 96, passed away at his home on June 23, 2020, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was born November 6, 1923, in Greene County, Iowa.
Warren proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a maintenance leader at Camp Dodge until retirement.
Warren was united in marriage to Maxine Lacher and they shared 70 wonderful years together until her passing in 2012. He was a member of Boline-Manfredi VFW Post 9662 in Des Moines.
Warren is survived by his son, Warren “Buzz” (Becky) Litchkey, Jr. of Indianola; daughter, Norma (Gearl) Ward of Johnston; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; as well as his sisters, Norma Borders and Sharon Phelps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton Litchkey and Maude (Ed) Eaton; and granddaughter, Rebecca Bruce.
A private graveside service will be held at Ridgedale Cemetery in Johnston, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Warren.

Grandpa, I will always remember following you everywhere you went when I was little and helping you in your shop. The greatest gift of all I received from you many, many years ago was when you gave me a spare key you had and said it was the key to your heart and I will always cherish that key and the memories. Love you bunches.
