We knew Dick and family when we lived in Sioux City for 16 month in 1978/79 and remember his warm hospitality, generosity and good humor as he tried (without success) to teach me (Ken) to play the chanter. We have never forgotten his kindness and know that he will be very much missed by his family and friends. Our condolences...

Dr. Vaught was a dedicated and outstanding urologist during his time in Sioux City. During my time as a RT at UPH (then St. Luke's), he had a real crafty way with patients and they loved him.

Dr. Vaught saved my life when I was 4 years old. My kidneys were starting to fail and other doctors had no idea what was going on. He was a wonderful kind man. Thanks to him I am a grown adult with a family of my own.

Nancy, I'm so glad I was privileged to greet Richard lots of times when we were grabbing our folders in the Chapel to warm up for the service. Even though he had lots of health issues, he always had a smile that emanated a peaceful joy. I'm sure some of that was due to your expert and loving care when he became so ill. May you and your family be blessed with many wonderful memories.
