Jenifer Dawn Wolfe
June 20, 2020
Jenifer Dawn (Bloes) Wolfe was born June 7, 1975 to Larry & Jan (Reining) Bloes in Des Moines, IA. She passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020.
Jen was raised in Norwalk, Iowa where she enjoyed hanging out with friends, playing tennis and volleyball. She also enjoyed taking cruises with family & friends.
Jen dreamed of being a dentist since she was a little girl. She attended the University of Iowa (go Hawks) where she was able to fulfill her dream. In dental school she met & married the love of her life, Pat Wolfe. Together they continued her love of travel and adventure. They moved to Oregon where they began working as dentists and started a Wolfe-Pack of their own.
In 2002, Reed was born. Reed has his mom's contagious smile as well as her infectious, happy and carefree attitude. They both love the outdoors and adventuring.
Pat and Jen decided that Iowa was going to be home in 2003. They moved to Iowa City where Jen began her pediatric dental residency and Drew was born.
Drew has his mom's charm and a way of getting everyone around him to fall in love with him. He has the biggest heart and always had a hug and smile for his mom.
In 2005, Pat and Jen moved to Altoona where they opened their own dental practice, fell in love with the community, began to build their “village” and Alea was born.
Alea has her mom’s caring and giving attitude. She is the quiet observing one who is there to lend a hand or reach out to anyone who needs something.
Katie-Mac has her mom's fashion sense. Kate is the queen of all things "girly" and comes by that naturally. As a small child, Jen played soccer but was more concerned about her hair and ruffle butt underwear than where the ball was or what action was on the field.
Jack is the baby of the bunch. Jen always said "what would we do without our Jackie-Jack.” He has a twinkle in his eye and boundless energy. Just like his mom, there is never a dull moment. He keeps you on your toes just like she did. He shares her adorable freckles as well.
In her down time Jen loved to run, read, spend time with her kids, play games, be around the water and take vacations. As a family they spent priceless days in Colorado skiing or in the Caribbean snorkeling. She loved to enjoy time with family and making special memories. Her favorite thing at all of these spots was the sunset. At the end of the day you could always find her looking to the West to watch the sun go down. Clear Lake, Okoboji, Florida and Colorado were always good for beautiful sunset pictures.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Pat; and their five children, Reed, Drew, Alea, Kate and Jack; her parents, Larry and Jan Bloes of Altoona and Steve and Jean Wolfe of Coralville; her sister, Lauri (Matt) Meneough of Norwalk; brother-in-law, Sean of Omaha; sisters-in-law, Steph (Mark) McGaffin of Ankeny and Meghan (Nathan) Miller of Winterset; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Jenifer Wolfe Memorial Fund is being set up at Bank Iowa in Altoona. Pat and the children plan to distribute funds to a variety of charities in honor of their wife and mom.
Public visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th Street SW, Altoona, respectfully following social distancing. Due to COVID 19 restrictions as well as the church limitations, the family would like you to join them virtually for the private funeral held at 12 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020 at the church by accessing the live stream link below. Cremation will occur following the funeral and private burial will be held at a later date at the Altoona Cemetery.

We are heartbroken over the loss of Dr. Jen. Cole loved her as his dentist, for me she was a comfort when Cole had to have a procedure done at 3 years old. After that I considered her a friend not just our dentist. Dr. Pat and kids, we will keep you in our hearts and prayers. We will miss her.

Dr. Jen was so kind and gentle with her patients and always spoke so fondly of her family. Her tiny stature put her face to face with the young children she took care of and the innocence they shared was a pleasure to work with.
