David Easter, age 81, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Madrid Nursing Home. He was born on August 7, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa.

He graduated from Polk City High School and remained a lifelong resident of Polk City. David worked as a truck driver for Super Value for 44 years. He was a true outdoorsman. David enjoyed gardening, trapping and his hunting Beagles. He took great joy and pride in helping family members build and remodel their homes. More than anything, David loved his family.

He is lovingly survived by his children, Scott (Carol) Easter and Beth (Terry) Knuth; grandchildren, Zach Easter, Austin Knuth and Mitchel Knuth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Beverly; parents, John D. and Elizabeth (Doll) Easter, Eva Easter (birth mom); and siblings, Virginia Linthicum, John Easter and Richard Easter.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 24th at Union Cemetery in Polk City.
