Sarak Mok

Sarak Mok, 39, was born in Omaha, NE on February 18, 1981, to parents Sakhon Mok and Sarim Loeurng. He passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2020.

Sarak loved his job at Larry’s Windows where he was known as a Legend. He dedicated 20 years of service to his career and developed many lasting friendships over the years.

Sarak had a contagious smile and larger than life personality; he was the life of the party. He was proud to be Marissa’s father, constantly bragging and showing photos of her. Sarak also had a great love for his 4 legged son, Dotson.

Sarak was a member of Solid Ones biker group that led numerous fundraisers and charity benefits in the community. He loved hosting Tuesday Asian night while referring to himself as “Chef Mok.” Sarak was a clean freak which was evident by the way he dressed and the extra time spent maintaining his cars and his motorcycle, Ruby. “50 Yen” will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Sarak is survived by his parents, Sakhon Mok and Sarim Loeurng; daughter, Marissa Mok; siblings, Saram (Stephon Morton) Mok, Jenny Mok (Travis) Ashman, and Stephen (Phaengdy Phonesavath) Mok; his grandma in France; dog, Dotson; nieces, Samara, Kiara, and Savia; nephew, Tevin; great-nephew, Terrance; as well as other loving family and countless friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will receive visitors Friday evening at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m.
