Dick Richards

Dick Richards, 75, passed away on May 25, 2020, at Edencrest at Siena Hills in Ankeny. He was born in Des Moines on June 8, 1944, the son of Gerard and Josephine Richards.
Dick worked at the Methodist Hospital cafeteria for 45 years. He enjoyed watching Iowa State basketball and had a membership at YMCA to swim. Dick was dedicated to service at First Church of The Open Bible and ushered for many years.
Dick is survived by his sister, Patricia, nieces, Pam (Dennis), Paula (Jack), Penny (Drexel), Nichole, Jeanne and nephews, Raymond (Lisa), Jeff, 6 great nieces and 7 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerard; mother, Josephine; and brothers, Don and Gerald.
A private funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Polk City, Iowa. It will be livestreamed at polkcity.church
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2020, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. The public is welcome to attend with proper social distancing.

I adored Dick when he was part of our New Horizons Adult Day Center family!! He was always so kind to everyone and saw only the good in people. I will always remember him. He was truly a great man.

We were so sorry to read of Dick's passing. We knew Dick from church and enjoyed seeing him occasionally when we were at the hospital. He was always friendly and we enjoyed our conversations with him.

Dick was always so friendly and outgoing. I enjoyed the time he lived at Valley View. He was always at Chapel on Sunday morning and
greeted me when I came to play the organ. God will welcome him home.

To all of Dicks family, Im so sorry about your loss. Dick was a light in everyones life and so full of happiness and joy. He will be missed by everyone. The only thing we have to remember is that hes now reunited with his mom and hell be well taken care of.

My dad (Ralph Page) and Dick were good friends at Valley View Village. We are so very sorry to hear of his passing. My dad really missed him when he left VVV. Rest In Peace Dick.

Ray and Lisa I am so sorry to hear about Dick, I have not been able to work at Edencrest since this virus started so the last time I seen Dick was in February.He will be missed.
