Dear Bob,
I read your mother's obit today in the Dubuque paper, what a nice lady! She and your dad were very close friends with my parents Gene and Rita. Your dad was a great help to my career. I miss them. Paul

My deepest sympathy to you at the passing of your mother. During my years at St Lukes both of your parents were very special to me. Their loving commitment to their faith community was exemplary. Later when I served a church in suburban Des Moines your mother and I enjoyed a new friendship that included lunching together at favorite places like Younkers tea room. We continued our relationship through the mail when I moved away from the area. Her letters and notes were always very special to me. I celebrate her long and wonderful life as nurse, wife, mother, grandma , friend and church member. Her smile and ever positive attitude even amid personal distress and grief was a witness to us all. May she rest now in peace, reunited with her husband and sons. And May her memory fill your hearts with peace and blessing.
