Cindy Shepherd

Cindy Shepherd, age 66, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital. She was born to Maynard and Louise Davis on January 28, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cindy worked at Plasti Pak and babysat. She loved being around kids and always had a house full of them running around. Some of her hobbies and interests included painting, horses, doing puzzles, crafts such as ceramics and making photo albums. Cindy enjoyed listening to music and drinking Busch Light. She will be remembered as a loving, caring person with a huge heart who would help just about anyone in need. Above all, she cherished time spent being around her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, George Shepherd; children David Lohner and Candy Lohner; grandchildren, Johnny (Jessica) McFadden, Nicole McFadden, Kayla (Dominic) Schaffer and Gracie Lohner; great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Maison, Layla, Spencer, Myah and Aiden; siblings, Gina (Bobby) Beerbower, Dixie (Kenny) Heim, Maynard “Butch” (Shan) Davis, Terry (Debbie) Davis; Alan (Barb) Davis, Kathy (Wig) Renslow, Tayna Davis, and Joe (Linda) Davis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Manard Davis ; brother, Danny Joe; nephew, Maynard (Bud) Davis III; and friend, Virginia.

Private visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm, with funeral service to begin at 1 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Journey Credit Union memorial for Cindy or sent to the family in her name.
