Mary Lynn Speck

Mary Lynn Joyce Speck, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines

Mary was born August 8, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa to Claude Martin, Sr. and June Travis. She graduated from high school in Des Moines. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very generous, all-around good person and would help anyone on the drop of a dime. She donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and to organizations helping children in third world countries.

She is survived by her son Tim Duncan (Norma Vega) of Ocala, FL, son John P. Duncan of Des Moines, IA, three grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, and her aunt Beverly Ackelson. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Claude Martin.

Cremation will occur and her urn will be buried at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Mary. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
