Michael Lloyd

Michael Ray Lloyd, 62, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Michael was born March 19, 1947 in Des Moines. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. Michael worked for Firestone and was a proud union member for over 38 years. He loved coaching Little League and won the 1981 Fairgrounds PeeWee Little League championship. Michael enjoyed collecting antiques and working in his yard and had a great sense of humor. He loved his dog "Rocky" and took him everywhere.
Michael is survived by his sons, Brian (Kimberly) Lloyd and Denny Brown; brother, Ed (Peni) Lloyd; and his grandchildren, Vincent "The V", Dominick, Andria, Alyssa, Jacob, Summer and Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Evelyn (Phillips) Lloyd; wife, Kathy and son, Aaron.
