Reginald Atkins

Reginald Atkins, 86, passed away May 9, 2020 at his home.
Reginald was born June 8, 1933, in Des Moines to Robert and Ethel Atkins. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Reginald worked as a parole officer for the State of Iowa for many years.
Reginald is survived by his children, Kenneth Atkins, Sr. and Regina (Moore) Lockman; grandchildren, Katiya Bell and Kenneth Atkins, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lenetta; parents, Robert and Ethel Atkins; and his granddaughter, Thuressia Smith.
The family will greet friends from 5 pm to 7 pm Monday, May 18, 2020 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Reginald will be laid to rest with military honors at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19th at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.

Oh Reggie, I am so sorry to hear of your passing. I often think of our times together you, me and John OKeefe. How you two took me under your wings, all the fun we had and how good you were to my daughter. We will remember you always.
