Helen E. Osborn was born October 16, 1925 in Mountain View, MO to parents, Viola and Peter Taber. She passed away peacefully on May 1, 2020 at the age of 94. Helen retired from the Des Moines School District and moved to Fraser, Iowa to enjoy many years with the love of her life, Hugh, of 59 years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and doing her daily crossword puzzle. Helen was the #1 fan of entertainer, Daniel O’Donnell.
She is survived by her sons, James (Pollyann) Osborn of Altoona and Scott (Pam) Osborn of Des Moines; daughter-in-law, Debbie (Marty) Chapman; brothers, Robert Kirkpatrick and Pete Taber Jr.; sisters, Phyllis Ferris and Sharon Jackson; ten grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh J. Osborn; sons, Steven J. Osborn and Jeffery W. Osborn; grandson, Scotty Osborn; and her brothers, Harold Taber, Floyd Taber, and Kenneth Kirkpatrick.
She will be laid to rest at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no services at this time. Family will gather at a later time to celebrate her life.

Only new her for a few yrs.velta and her was best friend's for many yrs.was a blast to sit at table in hall when they worked on puzzules.they lived a long life...rest in peace...u two be good up there.lots of ??

Aunt Helen you will be missed by so many!! But there are so many of your loved ones waiting for that you will be once again be able to spend time together with!! My Dad,Uncle Hugh, Jeff and Steve and my Mom just to name a few. You were always such a great person to me and my family! I know I told Thank You many times, but that never felt like enough, but I will tell you again Thank You for all that you did for my Mother it certainly was appreciated by our entire family.

I am so sorry for your loss, dear family.
Ill never forget Helen and Hugh and all of your kindness, when you came and visited me at the hospital long ago.
Helen was a beautiful and kind soul who always treated me as if I was special.

Helen was truly an angel. Wherever she went, she spread joy and happiness in the lives of everyone she met and always treated myself right . Her death fills many hearts with sadness. . Accept my heartfelt condolences On her passing
