James R. Loudon

James “Tiger” Loudon entered eternal life peacefully on April 27, 2020, at his home in Madrid, Iowa. James was born on October 16, 1930, to Paul and Teresa Loudon.
James was a 4 year Navy vet in the Korean War. James later devoted 30 years as a tire builder at Bridgestone Firestone in Des Moines, IA. He was an active member of the Local 310 union as vice president and made many life long friends during his time at Firestone. James spent many years enjoying his farm and spending time with his beloved animals. James enjoyed taking his morning trips to the diner in town, meeting up with his pals for breakfast.
James is survived by his sister Sharon Hower, son Christopher Loudon, daughter in-law Berlene Loudon, grandchildren Chad Loudon, Carrie Reilly, Christy Loudon, Jeremy Loudon, Ashlea Loudon (Nate Hausen), Chellee Polson (Jeremy Polson), 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
James is proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Jack Loudon, Paul (wife Mary) Loudon, William (wife Carolyn) Loudon and Thomas (wife Barb) Loudon, sisters Teresa Jo (husband Carl) Jessen, Joan (husband George) Bickett, ex wife Eva Loudon, and his son Jeffrey Loudon.
Post COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held with details being announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James name can be made to the Animal Rescue League.

We love you Uncle Jim. I love that you were able to stay on the farm and the end was as peaceful as it could be. You will be missed but never forgotten. Hugs!

Jim was a wonderful man, I'm blessed to have known him all of my life, he was like a brother to my dad & uncle to me.

Knew Jim back in the 70s and 80s at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. /URW local 310. Jim was a good union brother. May his family and loved ones find peace and solace in their time of grief.

Jimmy was the sweetest neighbor who often smiled, laughed and let me run wild on his farm growing up. Im so sad he is gone but so happy to have known him.
