Bernice E. Keyes passed away April 27th 2020; just under a month of the age 100.

Born to Carl and Marie Andrews on May 26th, 1920 in Rowley, Iowa. Bernice was raised around Center Point and Walker Iowa on farms.

Bernice married Virgil Matheny in 1937. Virgil went into the service April 1944 and was killed in the Battle of the Bulge December 4th 1944. Larry, their son, was born to them, August 4th 1942 and passed away March 23rd, 2015 of Cancer.

Bernice married Rev. Clem Keyes February 13th 1949. She and Clem served in the ministry for 35 years then retired in May 1990. Missing the ministry, they were called to do, they returned back for 3 years; serving in Lacona. They retired again and finished in Atlantic Iowa; ministered in Missouri Valley for 14 weeks. Their life was called to serve others in ministry. Clem passed away August 19th, 2002 of Cancer. They did have two children. Darrell and Dwight.

Darrell Edger was born to Bernice and Clem on October 21st 1949 but passed away from Polio in December 1950.

Dwight was born to them November 23rd, 1956 and passed away September 5th, 2019 of Cancer.

Bernice is preceded in death by many loved ones and leaves behind several family members; all whom she loved greatly.

Two grandsons: William Keyes (deceased), Larry Keyes Jr. and Chad (wife Christy) Keyes. One granddaughter: Terri (husband Scott) Eckman. Six great grandchildren: Isaac W., Nathaniel, Isaac K., Noah, Patrick and Preston. Niece Donna (husband Dennis) Wayson, Niece Shirley Andrews (spouse Gary). Several other nieces and nephews have touched her life: Debbie, Sheila, Sharon (deceased), Dennis, Mark, Gary, Ronnie and Ritchie (Gary and Ritchie deceased). Her sisters Eleanor and Lucille (deceased). 5 half-sisters: Betty, Ginger, Sandy, Penny and Gladys. 2 half-brothers Ron and Danny. Others who have also gone before her: Kevin, Claude, Kenny and Elaine.

Bernice, at age 99, had a very large and loving family, extended family, church family and many more friends who we extend our condolences and love.
