Veronica Deeds

Veronica Deeds, 83, died April 17, 2009 at the Bright Kavanagh House.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th, Des Moines, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A visitation will occur Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 5-8 PM at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th, with a vigil service at 7 PM.
Veronica was born November 11, 1925 to Loretta and John Zinnen in Hobart, Indiana.
Veronica was united in marriage to J.H. Deeds, they were married for 64 years. She worked primarily as a billing clerk. Upon retirement they built a house on Lake Thunderhead, where they spent over 20 years, during that time she was very involved with St. Mary's Catholic Church in Unionville MO.
Veronica is survived by her children; Lynda Deeds, Jayme Cox, James (Lori) Deeds, all of Des Moines, and Bernadette McLeod of Gadsden AL; 9 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Doris Brilliant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; daughter, Loretta Easley; infant daughter, Lynnette; grandson, Dale Rumbaugh and brother, Johnny Zinnen.
Memorial contributions will be directed toward St. Mary's Catholic Church by her family.
