Barbara Monk

Barbara Monk, 74, passed away April 26, 2020 at her home.
Barbara was born December 6, 1945, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Bill and Alice Haney. The family moved around, eventually settling in Clearfield, Iowa. She graduated from Clearfield High School. Barbara was married on April 2, 1967 in Clearfield. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Paul Monk; son, Terry Monk and his wife, Monica Peterson-Monk; and her beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Abigail and Ethan Monk.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 1st at the funeral home followed by burial at Elm Grove Cemetery. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, guests will be asked to rotate in and out of the building accordingly.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Barbara.

Paul & Terry & family....I am Kay Rothert's sister so have known Barb for a long time because of her. So sorry to hear this, but at least she is at peace now. It is just such a bad time to have to deal with this with the way things are. I know this was very difficult for Kay and their other friends too. May God wrap his arms around you in the days ahead.
