Vickie Weis, age 60, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 23, 2020 surrounded by her family. Vickie was born to Forrest and Saundra on June 9, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa. She spent her childhood in the Des Moines area and graduated from East High School in 1977. Vickie loved playing with her cousins and was never a fan of school. Vickie met the love of her life, Dave 30 years ago and the two married on August 13, 1994. She held various jobs throughout her life, working at the Jewish Care Center, Activities Director at Riverview Care Center and owned Vick’s Shear Magic.
She was extremely artistic, crafty and would design her own floral arrangements. Vickie absolutely adored her grandkids, loved all animals, especially her turtles, fish and dogs. She will be remembered most for always smiling, being a very strong woman & survivor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Dave of Des Moines; mother, Saundra Green of Des Moines; son, James Smalley of Newton; daughter, Kristin (Bobby) Reid of Des Moines; brother, Jerry Parmenter of Des Moines; grandchildren, Blackley, Mary Jane, Amber, Shelby and Kenneth; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Forrest Parmenter; grandma, Ruth Quick; and many aunts and uncles.

Vickie had a sweet and gentle personality and cared for her family. She will be missed by us! So sorry to lose her so young.

To Vickies family, I am sorry for your loss. I had worked with Vickie years ago at Riverview Care Center. What a wonderful person she was. I truly enjoyed knowing her. God Bless her for her love and dedication to the residents.

Vickie you will be missed by many, especially me. I will miss taking smoke breaks with you at work, I will miss sneaking outside with you when we should be working. I love and miss you. Say hi to my dad in heaven for me.
