Philip Blackford
April 24, 2020
Philip “Phil” Blackford, 59, passed away at his home April 24, 2020.
Phil was born November 4, 1960. He attended high school in Indianola and later received his GED. Phil enjoyed and did very well in construction in many fields and companies. He so thoroughly enjoyed teaching others the trade. He was a lifelong supporter of the New York Jets and loved all of the outdoor world especially fishing and hunting mushrooms.
Phil is survived by his wife, Lisa Blackford; daughters, Amanda Jo Blackford, Rebecca Penc, and Lyndsey Olsen; parents, Leslie and Patricia Blackford; and brother, Leslie Duane (Catherine) Blackford. We joyfully adopted Phil at the age of 5 and his siblings, Larry Bennett and Anita Schumacher who were adopted by another family and continued to be a very special part of his life.
Due to public gatherings being limited, on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. where people may remain in their cars and we request that they gather in a semi-circle to share in the service, Phil’s pastor will say a few words in the parking lot of North River Church, located in Warren County, followed by burial at North River Cemetery. Covid-19 social distancing guidelines will be followed.
We encourage friends to share their sympathies with his family using online condolences available at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com. It is important to let the family know that you support and care for them, even if you are unable to be present.
