Muriel Louise Thompson died Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. She was born November 15, 1931 in Reading, Massachusetts to Arthur and Helen Harris.

Muriel graduated high school and then took one year of business school in Boston, MA. She went to work as a secretary and remained in that profession until 1990.

Muriel enjoyed sewing, taking care of indoor plants, and keeping a small outdoor flower garden. She has always loved to read and listening to music. She was an active member of Highland Park Christian Church and had taken two trips to Israel through her church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Thompson.

A private graveside service was held at Rising Sun Cemetery in Des Moines.
