Tuyen Baccam, 84, passed away on April 17, 2020. He was born July 15, 1935 in Sonla, Vietnam to Quan and Hien Baccam.

He married Cuc Baccam in 1960 and together they had six children. After the war broke out, Tuyen and his family escaped to South Vietnam where he enlisted in the Army. After being imprisoned by the Communist Regime, he and his family were brought to America by the United States government in appreciation for his loyalty and they settled in Des Moines, Iowa.

Tuyen enjoyed tending his gardens, listening to soft music, and enjoying a glass of fine wine. However, the love of his family and grandchildren brought him the most pleasure in his life.

He is survived by his wife, Cuc; his children, Linh, Thai, Oahn, Anh, Simon and Huyen; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa with visitation on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and the memorial service following at 3:00 p.m.
