So sorry for your loss. I met Brad a couple years ago at Echo Valley when he joined our regular golf foursome. We played several times a week through this last summer and met for lunch a couple of times this past fall/winter..Brad managed to enjoy the game, even as his health failed. My wife and I wish to pass along our sympathy to his family and friends.

Dearest love ones,
Im so sorry Brad is gone too. Brad, little Betty and Henry were my playmates. There is comfort in the party the family will have in heaven now that Brad is home. I see the holidays at Grandma and Grandpa Appeldorns house. The men in the closed in porch, playing cards and joking. The ladies in the parlor and Grandpa handed us kids all a nickel and we went in a herd to downtown Paullina. I believe it wouldnt be heaven without them all together. We love you all and our sincere sympathy.
All my Love, Cynthia and family.

I've known Brad since the late 1990s, when I was tagging along with my Dad for morning workouts at the Y. Brad was always there, and even though I was just a kid then, he treated me like one of the guys and was always there to look out for me, give me a spot, and offer advice when asked.
Brad helped to make the Y a friendly, fun, and rewarding place to spend a morning, and I'll always be thankful to him for that. Mornings at the Y won't be the same, I'll miss you, Brad.

Brad was a source of information and strength when I experienced a serious medical procedure he had been thru many years ago. He also often served as my wingman in our YMCA spin class. Great and considerate guy - who has moved on much too soon. God bless and rest in peace, my friend.

Brad was a friend that I golfed, bicycled with, and spent time with in conversation. Two years ago we traveled together to the hospital during his first encounter with the cancer. He had many friends at the Wellmark YMCA, Echo Valley Golf Club, RAGBRAI team Stop A Lot, and others. We remember his fondly.
