Mertze and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember hearing about the daily adventures of Wade and "Roy", (AKA Ian). It made me smile that Wade could face down hardened criminals, but a little boy had him wrapped around his finger. I'm guessing he was the same way with all his kids and grandkids. I know he will be missed.

I met Wade in the early 80's when he worked security at the Hy-Vee on Fleur Dr. He was a wonderful man and always gave me great advice.
My condolences to Wade's family and friends.
