Tamra Bartelt
April 09, 2020
Tamra J. Bartelt, 75, was born in Muscatine, Iowa to Howard and Clara Jo Williams. Tam married Ralph Stephen “Beanie” Bartelt in 1964. Tam passed away on April 9, 2020 in Altoona, Iowa, with family by her side, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Tamra is survive by Beanie, son Brad, daughter Heather, and four grandchildren, Hannah, Victoria, Jack and Vance. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her lifetime friends, and the “Lunch Bunch gatherings.” She loved her trips and travels, Jazzercise, yoga, shopping, feeding and taking care of her outside pets-birds and squirrels-and using her “green thumb” on her many plants. Her smile, laugh, wit, and caring ways will be missed.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life for later this year.

Beanie and family: It has been many, many years since I have seen Tammy. My parents (Skeeter and Mary Ann Proffitt) were such good friends with Jo and Shorty and Tammy was a few years older than I, but as a young girl, I always thought she was the ultimate beauty and someone I always admired and looked up to. She was always so sweet to me and would hand down her pretty dresses for me to wear to Prom and such. I have admired both of you so much for taking care of Shorty after Jo's passing. Bob and I golfed all the time with them at West Liberty and had many, many fun times. Bless you and your family and we will keep you in our prayers during this difficult time.
