April 07, 2020
Benjamin Scott Braafhart, 37, was born April 15, 1982 to Harry and Mary G. (Kane) Braafhart. He passed away April 7, 2020.
Ben was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago and Iowa Cubs fan. He held Hawkeye football season tickets for many years. He also enjoyed fishing beginning at a young age. He enjoyed attending church and was a member of Elks Lodge #98 BPOE.
Ben loved taking bus trips to out of state Iowa football games, tailgating and enjoying good times with his many friends.
He is survived by his parents and brothers Bradley (Angie) and Bret (Jenny) and their families. Also his beloved dog, Kinnick.
A private graveside service for family will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill on Saturday. A celebration of life with family and friends will be at a later date to be determined.

Both my son Ryan and I have such good memories of Ben from the softball games and other gatherings way "back in the day". Our condolences to your family.

Ben loved life & lived life! He didnt know a stranger & always had such an upbeat personality.
I will never forget all the family vacations, Christmas & all the other holidays & time spent together. Uncle Butch, Aunt Mary, Brad & Bret, I love you all so much & words absolutely escape me at this time. My heart is shattered. I know dad, uncle Bob & aunt Darlene along with the grandparents are showering him with all the love heaven can hold. We will miss him here, but he is celebrating in his makers house right now!
Love hugs & prayers to you all. As soon as we are allowed, those hugs become real.
