Chris Jacobsen

Chris Jacobsen, 69, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at Methodist Medical Center after a battle with various health complications.
Chris was born in Perry, Iowa on March 29, 1951 to Robert and Alfreda (Davis) Jacobsen. He graduated from Perry High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He was employed by Midwest Power and Guide One. Chris enjoyed fishing with his grandson and had collections of stamps and rocks. He liked listening to music, especially rock. Above all, Chris loved spending time with his family and his grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter, Brooke (Bryan) and their children Shaylee and Leyden; step-children, Danielle, Christina, and Josh; sisters, Mary (Steve) and Kathy (Christos); brother, Robert; his niece and nephew, Barb and Bob and their mother Jody; nephews Argyrios and Avery; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; the love of his life and mother of his daughter, Cindy; and a host of extended family and friends.
There will be a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Due to the influence of Covid-19, we appreciate the public’s cooperation in being mindful of the 10 person or less ruling at this time. We will accommodate everyone’s wishes to pay their respects to the family, and respectfully remind the public to be timely to enable us to facilitate this. The visitation will be followed by cremation. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

As a young boy my uncle Chris tried to teach me some German language before he made his trip there. I said Im happy with speaking English thank you. Chris always had a grin on his face and made me laugh. RIP my uncle

You were always a sweet guy and a good friend. You were easy to talk to and always had a smile. I will remember our adventures; especially when you opened up my eyes to canoeing. I will forever remember you.May you rest peacefully.
