Darin Hopkins

Darin Gene Hopkins, 51, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Darin was born January 17, 1969 in Mt. Ayr, Iowa to Donald and Kathryn (Crangle) Hopkins. Darin worked at Two Rivers Glass and Door for almost 25 years. He had a devout faith and was an active member of Lutheran Church of Hope. He served faithfully and was always willing to help others. Darin loved spending time with his family, his grandchildren, and also had a love for farming.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Hopkins; children, Nicole Hope, Mandy (Tyler) Hopkins – Houseman, Jacci (Charlie) Giles, and Mark (Chelsey) McCaughey; grandchildren, Morgan, Luca, Hannah, Lily, Lanie, Blain, Macallen, Layla, Hayden, Colton, Chase, and Caden; siblings, Ryan (Bruce) Hopkins and Donnel (Charles) Adams; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A special thank you to Darin’s second family, Peggy Bedier, Jeff (Heidi) Bedier and family, and Kristy Jarred and family.
Darin was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Kathryn Hopkins, and his father in law, Nicolas Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service to begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 520 NW 36th St., Ankeny.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Darin.
