David Jacobs, 53, of Clermont, Florida passed away peacefully after a short, courageous battle with lung cancer, on Wednesday April 1st, 2020. He was surrounded by his family.

You never knew a jokester until you met David. He had a great sense of humor was a practical joker. He was known for playing goofy tricks on his nieces and nephews.

David had many favorite activities. The ones he enjoyed the most were watching and attending sporting events with his nephew Michael, solving puzzles, playing any kind of board games - especially chess, camping, fishing, and just being outside.

A highlight for David was to have his family around. One pastime they enjoyed together was watching TV. To their amusement David always fell asleep, watching their favorite programs.

David enjoyed traveling to Ely, Minnesota, Daytona Beach, and Walt Disney World in Florida with family.

David was quite an accomplished baker. He was extremely honored when he was asked to create a cake for his Grandparents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary. Additionally, his talents were not limited to baking. He also enjoyed cooking family dinners alongside his mom.

David was generous and trusting to a fault. He was always willing to help a friend or stranger, which always concerned his family.

David had a relationship with the Lord, and a love for learning. He spent time doing online bible studies and studying God’s word.

He enjoyed being involved in his church, Faith Assembly, in Chisago, Minnesota. He worked with the children’s ministry and was willing to work wherever he was needed.

David is survived by his loving sister Cheri, his brother in law Chip, and nephew Michael of Florida; nieces Elizabeth and Stephanie of Minnesota; one special great-niece Liviana and two special great-nephews Rowan and Logen; and stepsister Tammy Rowe. He is also survived by his dad Delbert Jacobs, uncle Andy Houghton of Texas, and aunts Karen Henderson (Audie) and Corinne DeHamer (Dave).

David was preceded in death by his mother Janet Rowe, stepfather James Rowe, stepsister Mary Rowe, and grandparents Dwight and Colleen Houghton.

A celebration of Life will be held later in Minnesota.
