Karla L. Stone

Karla L. Stone, 75, of Parnell, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2020. She was born on March 15, 1945 in Colo, Iowa to Harry and Elsie Faye (Barker) Plumb. Karla graduated from Saydel High School in 1963. She married George R. Stone on April 24, 1965. Karla enjoyed working around the house and yard. She was happiest when building, fixing or decorating. She was always busy working on or planning her next project. She loved taking in people and animals who needed her and had a soft spot for cats.

Karla is preceded in death by her father Harry and mother Elsie, her brother Jerry and sister Betty, and her husband George. She is survived by her sister Faith Barker of Des Moines, Iowa, son Scott Stone (Michelle) of Orient, Iowa, daughter Melissa Privett (Jessie) of Ravenwood, MO, grandchildren Zachary and Sammantha Stone, Jordan Nelson, Tierney, Tessa and Toryn Privett, 4 great grandchildren, and several “adopted” kids and grandkids.

Visitation and viewing will be Wednesday, April 8, 2020 from 1-3 pm at Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines, Iowa. A graveside service will immediately follow at Pleasantville (Iowa) Cemetery. A Celebration of Life is being planned for later this summer.
