Julia Bedard
April 02, 2020
Julie Bedard, 55, passed away April 2, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospital after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. She was born on July 28, 1964, the daughter of Patrick and Karen (Clawson) Bedard.
Julie was passionate about working with persons with disabilities. She worked at Daycare for Exceptional Children/ChildServe for more than 25 years. She loved to cook, enjoyed Garth Brooks, spending time outside, and being surrounded by friends and family.
Her greatest joy in life was watching her daughter, Jessica, graduate from Drake University and have the career Jessica always wanted. Julie also loved her various pets, especially cat Emeril and pug Ramsay.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Karen, and brother Patrick “Fuzz” Bedard. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Bedard of Des Moines; her uncle, Paul Clawson of Union City, CA and a host of other loving family and friends.
A private family graveside service will be held at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Julie.

I have such wonderful memories of Julie. She was devoted to you, Jessica, and always so proud of your many, many accomplishments. She became very attached to the students she worked with at the daycare and I know how much she loved her pets. My thoughts and prayers are with you constantly. May her memory always be for a blessing.

Jes, your mom and I went to high school together. After that we stayed friends, as I ate at the cafeteria your grandparents managed. We had lots of good times, and Julie told it like it was. My Condolences, Jes! I will be praying for you both. Julie is in a better place now!
