Joan Yazel
March 31, 2020
On 3-31-2020, Joan Marie Yazel died at the age of 85 at her home in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mom was born at her parents’ home in Collins, Iowa in 1935. She lived there until early adulthood. She spent a number of years on the West Coast until the early 60’s, when she returned to Iowa. She lived in Mitchellville, Altoona and Des Moines.
Mom loved her morning coffee, John Wayne, old tv programs and The Young and The Restless, which was a requirement for a good day. Do NOT call between 11 and Noon. She LOVED the people around her, but she could not, and would not, tolerate “a liar, and a thief”.
She was preceded in death by her Father Earl, Mother Orpha, step father Kitty, her siblings Susie and Art, her children Fred Harris, Kitty Beach and granddaughter Brianna Harris.
Surviving, her sister Jeannie (Jimmy, Kitty, and David) Luckert; her children, Harvey, Bob, and Nancy Harris Way Beville; Bud, Kenny, Brenda, and Paul Beach. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sally and Gabriel Way, Fred and Angela Harris, Ian and Shawna Harris, Mark Doland, Jodi Harris, Jennifer and Buddy Beach, Sierra and Cali Beach; 2 Great Grandchildren Jaydon Beach and Emma Beach, as well as many, many other relatives.
Because we are currently only allowed up to ten people in public gatherings, the life celebration service for Joan will be held at a later date, which will be posted on the FaceBook page, Missing Joanzie. While we are unable to meet in person, we ask friends and family to express their condolences through the Hamilton’s www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com
