Samuel “Tino” Zenti, 91, passed away March 30, 2020 at his home.
Tino was born December 18, 1928 in Riva di Solto, Italy to Abele and Pierina (Berardelli) Zenti. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Tino and his brother Mario owned and operated Venetian Iron Works. They were responsible for the structural steel for the Ruan Center, the Des Moines Skywalk System as well as many other city and state projects. Samuel was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows to watch the horse races with his sister, Angie. Tino loved being outdoors, gardening and mushroom hunting.
Tino is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carmella Zenti; children, Christian and Sarah Zenti; siblings, Angie, Ben (Vonnie) and Louie (CeCe) Zenti; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law, Mario and Shirley Zenti.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Due to public gatherings being limited to 10 people or less, a private family service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2020 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
