Francis “Frank” Teal Fair, 89, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his home. Frank was born in Seattle, WA, on July 31, 1930 to Francis and Ruth (Cecil) Fair. He married Ardeth “Jackie” Perkins in 1955 at the old St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church. He and Jackie were inseparable and one of the most loving couples God has joined together.
Frank was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Portland, OR. He served in the Korean War as a Corporal and was honorably discharged in 1953. He earned his Bachelor of Science in 1960 from Lewis and Clark College in Lake Oswego, OR, where he was recognized in their Athletic Hall of Fame. Frank obtained a Master of Science in 1970 from the University of Oregon in Eugene, OR and was a charter member of Sigma Pi Phi, the first Greek-lettered fraternity founded by professional African American men.
Frank was a significant contributor to the growth and development of our youth for many years. He was not only a Court Counselor of the Multnomah County Juvenile Court in Portland, OR, but also a Work Experience Advisor at North High School in Des Moines School District.
Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jackie; children, Karen Fair and Scott Fair; grandson, Jace Matthew; sister, Carrolle (Courtney) Devonish; and many treasured family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Fair and Ruth Fair; and brother, Charles E. (Thelma) Fair.

Sorry to read of Frank's passing. I will always be indebted to Frank for helping me cut up the tree. He was such a good guy.
Ironically, my son Tom is here helping me with Peg's obituary. She died Friday.
They say time heals, we both need a lot of time.
Stay safe,

Jackie I am so sorry to hear about your loss, but I'm going to remember the good times. I am going to miss Frank and hope you are receiving the acknowledgements from the many friends. I will do a better job of staying in touch, as soon as I return from Germany.

Dear Ms. Jackie, I was floored by Mr. Frank's obituary. What a remarkable legacy to leave. I would love to have known him in those days of his, seemingly, tireless service to whatever community he embraced. He was so quiet, you would never have known. What a lucky and blessed pair you were to find each other. Much love, Tyger
