Sally Mortoza, 66, passed away March 29, 2020 at EveryStep Kavanagh House.
Sally was born August 22, 1953 in West Des Moines to John and Eleanor (Durskey) Williams.
She worked for Marsden Building Maintenance as an area manager for 20 years.
Sally enjoyed puzzles and was a great cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Allison Wegner; grandchildren, Anthony Runner and Nichole Wegner; great-grandchildren, Riley, Chloe, Antonio, Anna, Skylar, Jayden; brother, John Williams; sisters, Suzanne Payne and Sharon (Tom Fuller) Bagby; and numerous friends and family members.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents; and great-grandson, Kole Runner.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Sally.
Due to public gatherings being limited to 10 people or less, there will not be any services for Sally at this time. Friends and family will gather at a later date to celebrate her life. Celebration of Life/ Balloon Release:
On April 18th, 2020 we invite family and friends to celebrate the life of Sally.
Since times are restricted to social distancing we are having a message on a balloon release from car celebrations of life service.
Bring a helium balloon with written message on or inside balloon or we will have some as well if need and join us at Southridge Mall, SE 5th and Army Post at the NW parking lot park facing SE 5th St as well Sally Mortoza’s patio of residence and at 2:00 pm we will all together release our message balloons for her

Sally was like a mother to me for many years. She invited me into her wonderful family to which I have so many great memories. She was such a great, loving and fun lady. Sally will be truly missed.

We have no idea how deeply we will miss someone after they have passed .. this all happen so very fast less then 4 months.. I miss her so much and life seems so different . My whole world has changed and I can only hope to be able to fill her shoes even half as much as she did as a mother,grandma and great grandma,.. I love you mom and your sisters,brother,aunts,uncle's, cousins,nieces, nephews,and friends all miss you.. you are a wonderful lady ..
