Michael Dennis Jackson, age 70 passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 12, 2020.
Michael Dennis Jackson was born August 19, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Francis and Madonna Jackson.
Michael graduated from East High School in Des Moines, IA, where he held the All City High School Championship in wrestling. After high school Mike went on to play Pro-football for the Des Moines Vikings in 1968.
Mike retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years of service as Supervisor of Transportation.
After he retired, Mike embellished his life with traveling and working on building a sleeper car. He loved to drive long distances but on occasion he would sail away to places like Jamaica, Cayman, St. Thomas, Cozumel and as far away as Antigua. Mike loved being out on the high sea.
Mike Jackson leaves to cherish his memory: children, Michael Jackson, Eraina Jackson and Victoria Jackson; grandson, Santoi Marmet; and siblings, Marilyn Broadnax, Donnajean Jackson, Gail Jackson-Watson; and brother, Keith (Sandi) Jackson (Ankeny, IA) along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Michael Dennis Jackson was proceeded in death by his parents Francis and Madonna Jackson, siblings Nannetta Bruce and Darrell Jackson.
Celebration of life is currently pending. Memorial contribution can be directed to the family in his memory.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Michael. He was one of my Daddys (Clyde Parkers) best friends, they shared the same birthday and so many memories. He was like an Uncle to me. A great man will definitely be missed. I will continue to lift the family in prayer.
