Peggy Ellen Underwood
Of Des Moines, Iowa
Peggy Underwood, age 59, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Peggy was born on July 6, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa.
She graduated from Des Moines Tech High School in 1978. Peggy worked as a clerk for Iowa Workforce Development. Peggy enjoyed listening to music, fishing and camping with her grandchildren. She was very active in her grandchildren’s lives and cherished time spent with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Mark Underwood; daughters, Kristen Underwood and Kelly (Chad) Parton; grandchildren, Blair Bowers, Jordan Parton, Drake Parton, Bailey Parton, Alivia Underwood, Pressley Priebe and Carson Priebe; siblings, David (Sue) Summers, Mark (Ginger) Summers, Deanna (Neil) Hampton, Marsha (Kurt) Watts and Russell (Laurie) Scovel; and host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Sovel; son, Kevin Underwood; father and mother-in-law, Don and Elinor Underwood.
Celebration of Peggy’s Life will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Des Moines on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Peggy.
