Linda Wheeler

Linda Wheeler, age 64, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Linda was born January 22, 1956 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Donald and Betty (Gilbert) Hensley. She worked as a server for Stu’s BBQ at their locations at Wells Fargo Arena and the Iowa Cubs Stadium – Principal Park. She made lots of great friends and coworkers while working at both places. She was always smiling and she was kind to everyone. Her grandkids were her life. She loved them with all her heart. She loved sweets and pop. Linda enjoyed flowers, plants, and gardening. She always attended her children’s activities when they were active in sports.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Anthony) Holtz; grandchildren, Carson, Matilynn, Jack, Jake, and Avri; siblings, Terry Demaray, Kelly Roberts, and Mona Hensley; and her nephews, Jared Demaray, Cody Roberts, and Cory Roberts.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Betty Hensley and her son, Josh Wheeler.
There will be a memorial visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Linda.

Andrea,
Linda was such a kind, gentle person with a great sense of humor.
We always had a lot of laughs together.
She will be missed.

Just heard about your mom. So very sorry, I always enjoyed catching up with her when we would see each other. You have been through so much Andrea and my heart breaks for you. So many wonderful memories of you and Josh when I babysat you both so long ago. You are in my prayers.

Still cant believe this news my heart goes out to u Andrea n all the littles or mom was a breathe of fresh air for me when I meet her she showed me how to smile in a dark place and Ill always cherish that may she fly high and Rest In Peace

I had just had a short visit with Linda at Stu's the morning of her heart failure, I still can't believe she is gone. What a wonderful smiling face, I so glad I felt the need to go see her. I will miss my friend. May god bless her and her family
