Clara Johnson

Clara Johnson, 84, of Des Moines passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Clara was born March 18, 1925 in Des Moines to Albertina and Andrew Erickson.
Clara was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Clara is survived by her daughter, Pam (Bob) Ballard; her grandchildren, Kory (Michelle), Nicholas (Bridget) and Austin Ballard; her great-grandchildren, Skyla, Zoie and Nikki Ballard (due in June 2009); her brother, Alver Erickson; her companion, Murphy Boyd; many nieces and nephews; and many brother and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olvin; her son, Steven; and many brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday April 9, 2009, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Clara.
