Ellen Schultz

Ellen Carol Schultz, infant daughter of Pastor Aaron and Jill Schultz (Keifenheim), entered eternal life Monday, March 30, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center while in her mommy’s arms. She spent 8 ½ hours with her family. She became a child of God through holy baptism an hour after birth and now sleeps with Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26)
Her short life was an example for everyone who witnessed God working through her. Her parents offered her heart valve tissue to the Iowa Donor Network that she might help another sick young child live a full life here on earth.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Beautiful Savior Ev. Lutheran Church, 8051 EP True Parkway in West Des Moines, with visitation starting at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be on Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Ellen is survived by her parents; her big sister, Hannah; her grandparents: Stephen and Carol Schultz of Antioch, IL, and James and Louise Keifenheim of Fond du Lac, WI; nine aunts and uncles; and eight cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beautiful Savior in loving memory of Baby Ellen. The memorial fund will be split between the gospel ministry at the church and in helping another sick child in need of care through the great people at Iowa Methodist and Blank’s Children Hospital.
