Morton Henderson

Morton C. Henderson, 73, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday April 1, 2009 at New Hope Assembly of God, 6800 Townsend, Urbandale, with burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Mort was born January 5, 1936 to Lewis and Omine Henderson in Des Moines. He was an electrician for 36 years, most of those were with Brown Brothers and a member of Local Union 347. Mort enjoyed his church, grandkids, sports and fishing.
Mort is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dixie; his children, Audie (Karen) Henderson, Susan Hook, Cindy Steben and Jeff (Jolene) Henderson; his sister Lillian Beener; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two on the way, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, three brothers and great grandson Kane Evans Hook.
