Martha Larson

Martha May Larson, 89, was born May 16, 1919 in rural Guthrie County near Monteith, and passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 28, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Highland Park Christian Church, 4260 NW 6th Drive, with burial to follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church from 12 p.m. until service time.
Martha was a graduate of the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and a member of the World War II Nursing Cadet Corp. She had a strong faith and had been a proud member of Highland Park Christian Church most of her adult life.
Martha will be remembered by her loving husband of 61 years, Harry C. Larson; her daughters, Ann (William P. Sturm) Samani and Janet (Michael) Braun, all from Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, David (Lisa) Samani from Atlanta, Georgia and Jennifer Samani from Austin, Texas; her brother, Fred (Bonnie) Couch from West Des Moines; many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and close friends, and her special church family. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park Christian Church or Heifer International in loving memory of Martha. Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens is handling arrangements.
