Ruth A. Wessel

Ruth A. Wessel, age 67, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Ruth was born December 22, 1952 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Her family was her first priority and she treasured time spent with them. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed playing the slots at the casino. Social media helped her to keep in touch with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Tina Carnine, Scott Ashley (Jennifer), Mary Ashley (Shon Rissman), and Bobbie Jo Wessel (Zachary Vaske); grandchildren, McKinley, Michaela, Troy, Anthony, Kassandra, Kaitlyn, Russell, Joseph, and Mya; great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Sophia, Aubrie, and one on the way due in October; siblings, Janice Klitzke (Rick), Janet Price (Don), Susan Antomori, Albert Espey, and Ralph Espey; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather who raised her, Joyce and Willis Collins; and her biological father, Alfred Espey.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
