Service Details
Neil “Dan” Hanson, 43, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009. A memorial service will be held 2pm Wednesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Dan was born April 24, 1965 in Des Moines. He was a car dealer and co owner of Southridge Auto. Dan enjoyed riding his Harley, boating and cars. He lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be missed by many.
Dan is survived by his longtime companion and life partner, Chantell Violett-Hanson, his mother and father, Marilyne and Neil Hanson, his brother, Scott (Sherrae) Hanson, his sisters, Kristin Hanson and her son, Drsean Anania, Karen Massaro (Severino) and her daughters, Jaime and Briana, his mother-in-law and fathers-in-law, Dan and Linda Busick, Ed Perryman and Ridge Violett and many friends and relatives.

I was so saddened by the news of Danny's passing. Though I have not seen Danny in many years, his smile and warm spirit touched my life and all those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Being good friends with Scott and his family since we were liitle kids,I had the pleasure of knowing Danny as a young boy.
When I heard the tragic news, instantly, I saw the face of a 12yr old young man, hair flowing in the wind, a smile you could see for miles, tearing off on a mini bike, snowmobile or whatever he could find that had an engine. His passion for living life is something we can all learn from.
Danny loved life and life loved Danny....We were all blessed to have known him and touched by his friendship.

I wanted all of you to know my heart cries with you in this very difficult time. There is no words that can be spoken to ease your pain I know. My prayer for you is STRENGTH from our HEAVENLY FATHER. Daniel's time here on earth (with us) was very short, he will be missed greatly. Those in my family who knew Dan and were close to him, are as well grieving this tragic loss...We are Blessed to have known him.

Well I don't even know how to begin. Chantell, I can't even Imagine how you must feel. I know how much you both loved each other. I feel so blessed that he was our son in-law, what a beautiful young man. We had so much fun through the years with you both. I can't even believe this has happened, I will miss him so much. To Dan's family; I can't even say how sorry I am for you all. I will say Marilyn and Neal, you raised a very kind,loving man. There is not another one like him any where. The smile and the laughter I will never forget.

I wish you peace in your hearts and strength for your sorrow, I know that words can never take away the pain and loss.
I went to high school with Danny, he was just an all around awesome guy, loved by many, everyone always wanted to be around him he was just so full of life!
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, and of course with Danny, may he rest in peace, and may time offer you healing of this tragedy and warmth from the memories!

It's been several years since I last saw Danny. I was saddened to here of his passing. Please accept my sincere codolences and prayers for your family. Danny touched a lot of people in his brief life.

I have known Danny Hanson since Junior High at Brody and back when he drove a Camaro !! Can't say that I ever seen him mad for one minute. This guy loved cars, bike and boating of any kind, and loved to go fast. It won't be the same not seeing him around on the southside, honking his horn and giving you a wave You will be so deeply missed my friend Danny , until we met again. my friend.

Girlfriend, I am soooo sorry! Dan has touched so many of our lives he had a heart of gold. I will miss his huge big smile, Dan will truly be missed by all.
