Service Details
David Gene Shelton was born November 26, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence and Marian (Titus) Shelton. He worked as a laborer for the City of Des Moines during his working years. He loved scary movies and watching football, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. He liked riding his bike and sprint car racing.
David passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at the age of 84.
He is survived by his siblings, Jerry (Joyce) Shelton, Jim Shelton, and Mary Lou Tarter as well as many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Marion Shelton, and his siblings, Don, Howard, Dick, Carl, Bobby, Iva May, Betty, Norma, and Joy.
Visitation will be held from 12-2PM, followed by funeral service at 2PM, Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery after the services.

My heart is so heavy with hurt and sadness Uncle Dave was one of a kind ! He will be missed by many .MY Love goes out to Mary because i know threre was not one day you were not together and sending love to all the family my family. we lost a good man .He will be missed as he joins our family we have in heven ! RIP UNCLE DAVE see u on te other side !
