Joyce Ann Swift
January 30, 2020
Joyce Ann Swift passed away on January 30, 2020 after battling lung cancer. She was born on June 1, 1947 to Ora and Agnes Swift in Des Moines, Iowa.
Joyce graduated from East High School in 1965. After graduation Joyce worked in direct sales, and most recently was a District Sales Manager for AVON.
Joyce always lit up a room with her big smile, red hair, and contagious laugh. She loved spending time with her friends, whom she considered family. Joyce also embraced her AA family, with 35 years sober.
She is survived by her friend, Bill; many cousins; extended family members; and a large group of friends who became family to her.
A very special thank you to Dr. Thomas Buroker and the entire care team at John Stoddard; Lori Boehme with Comfort Keepers; and Mary Jo ONeil for being a friend and caretaker.
There will be a celebration of Joyce’s life in June.

This really breaks my heart to learn that my good friend had passed away, I had took care of Joyce when I worked for ComfortKeepers. While working with them her and I became good friends especially when we found out our Birthday was the same day. Joyce will be truly missed and glad that I was able to meet her. R.I.P Joyce

We spent some special memories together--especially the last 36 hours with you, Bill and I. I pray I was able to offer you the comfort that God desired for you in your journey home. I love you Ms. Joyce and pray I can help others in their journey home as well. I will never forget you saying to us, "Stop fussing"....I will use that statement on my journey moving forward.
