Margaret Lenore Rife, 90, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020.
Margaret was born September 26, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles and Grace (Sommers) Nicholes. She was an East High School graduate, Class of 1947. Her pride and joy was her family and she adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Margaret liked puzzles and fishing, but her favorite thing in life was giggling with her sister.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Dennis (Bev), Bill, and Lloyd Jr.; daughters, Diane Thompson and Sharon Rife; grandchildren, Tiffany (Zach), Chadd, Bradd, and Jason (Kari); great-grandchildren, Chelsea (Frank), Betsy, Christina (Austin), Izaiah, Eric, Keegan, Gaven, Makenna, Bridgit, Carter, and Baylor; great-great-grandchildren, Frankie and Bane; sister, Betty Becker; sister-in-law, Carolyn Rife; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Rife, Sr.; grandson, Ryan Thompson; two brothers, two sisters; and her parents, Charles and Grace Nicholes.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
