Michael Runyon

Michael Ray Runyon, 61, was born May 24, 1958 in Des Moines, the son of Raymond and Marcene (Sullivan) Runyon. He passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center.
Mike was a Foreman at Des Moines Steel Fence where he faithfully worked the past 26 years. He enjoyed watching westerns and Cops. Mike played a mean game of ping pong and enjoyed the friendly competitive matches with his sons. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his family, especially being goofy with his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Julie; his sons, Charles (Betsy) Runyon and Bradley Runyon; grandchildren, Aiden, Owen, Emma, Ellie, Olive, Charlotte and Rudolph; mother, Marci Runyon; sister, Debi (Greg) Baker; his faithful four-legged companion, dog George; other loving relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Runyon.
Cremation has occurred and private family burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Mike.

Im so very sorry for your loss. Mikes kind and non judgemental soul will be surely missed. He had a way to make you laugh and forget what may have been bothering you through his carefree attitude. Fly high my friend, see you on the other side.

I feel terrible that Mike has passed, he was a great friend. I'm going to remember all the all the laughter, & joking around, the things he taught me. I hope that he's in a place of happiness, I hope he's with people he lost, people he loved. I offer my condolences to his family, I will miss Mike very much.

Mike, your are sure going to be missed around here. Your smile first thing in the morning, even on those rainy days, would brighten anyone's day or your talent to fix anything with a fence tie??. I know you will be the first in line to start a fence crew in heaven and Phil will be right there with you. Love you Mike.
