Judith "Judy" Noble
January 09, 2020
Judith “Judy” Noble was born to Franklin “Frank” and Marilyn, the second of six children. She met her lifelong love Thomas “Tom” Noble in Kentucky where both of their parents worked at Red Bird Mission. She married Tom, worked as an OB nurse to help put him through college, and then worked in the home raising three children: Aaron, Adam, and Annie. She and Tom celebrated over 40 years of marriage.
Her focus was outward, on her family, friends, and faith in God. She could have made a great career in any field. Instead, she poured all that brilliance and extraordinary common sense into her family, supporting Tom, and homeschooling their children who now work in law, engineering, and education. She also dearly loved her four grandchildren: Austin, Abigail, Andrew, and Adalie. She frequently traveled thousands of miles with Tom to visit and spoil them.
In her life here, Judy also avidly enjoyed gardening, hiking, photography, butterflies, and birding. Her photography shows her love for God’s handiwork, and her eye for beauty reveals a beautiful soul. She nurtured caterpillars to butterflies, and together with her daughter spotted almost 100 Iowa bird species in 2019. Judy fell in love with the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and brought glory to God through her exceptional photographs of His wild and wonderful creation. There was no season she loved more than spring, when new life flooded the earth in flowers, and everything turned a fresh green.
At an early age, Judy trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and for her salvation. She shared that message of love in both word and deed her whole life, a true servant at heart. During her final months on earth, she continued to find great comfort in God’s Word and overlaid her favorite verses on beautiful pictures she had taken in Iowa, Texas, and Colorado.
Judy passed away peacefully at the age of 60 after an evening surrounded by her family singing favorite hymns and songs. The faith that she lived continues to provide meaning to life and hope for the future. Her family was blessed to have shared in her life. They deeply appreciate the loving care she received from the doctors and nurses at the University of Iowa Hospital and at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Judy is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Aaron (Adriana), Adam (Katie), and Annie; grandchildren, Austin, Abigail, Andrew, and Adalie; and siblings, Jim (Naomi), Jan (Wayne), Joan (Guillermo), Joyce (David), and Joe (Shauna). She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Marilyn.
Visitation will be at Grace Church at 4200 East 25th Street in Des Moines on Thursday, January 16th from 6 to 8pm. The funeral service will begin Friday, January 17th at 1pm, at Grace Church, and will conclude with burial at Avon Cemetery at 3995 Hart Avenue, also in Des Moines.
Donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (https://www.pancan.org/) or flowers are appreciated by the family. Flowers may be sent directly to Grace Church. Condolences and memories may be shared at http://www.hamiltonsfuneralhome.com/.

Judy inspired me with her photographs of flowers and butterflies. The most impressive to me was the monarch series of the butterfly emerging from its chrysalis. I often shared Judy's nature pictures with my photography students. Hearing of her passing they were sad and said they wish they could have met her. She inspired more people than she knew.

Judy touched so many lives in such beautiful ways. She was such an inspiration for me and I'm sure many others also by continuing such a great love and belief in God. My thoughts and prayers for comfort are with her family as they continue through this life without her.

Judy always had a smile. She had a keen eye for the beauty in nature and shared that through her camera lens. She is now flying free with the angles and all Gods creations. My heart goes out to Tom and the rest of the family. We will meet again cousin...
