Richard James

On Wednesday, December 25, 2019, Richard Dean James (Dick) passed away at the age of 75.
Dick was born on November 16, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa to Arline and Orville James. He lived most of his life in the Grandview Park area of the East Side, where he was a legend for hitting home runs into the upper decks of the trees.

Dick was an accomplished painter, having one of his oil paintings hang in the White House during the Johnson administration.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Ronald K. James and leaves behind his two younger brothers, Robert A. and Roger L. James.

There is a memorial service being planned that will be held in Des Moines at a future date this coming summer.
