Patrick J. Boozell

Patrick James Boozell was born March 17, 1963 in Des Moines, Iowa to James L. and Barbara Jean (Dyer) Boozell. He passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at the age of 56.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara Boozell and his brother, Jay Riley.

Patrick is survived by his siblings, April Boozell, Tim (Shari) Boozell, Cindy Boozell and Bobby Boozell; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews: Jesica Boozell, Jason Boozell, Robbie Boozell, Baily Boozell, Dylan Jones, Gia Boozell, Aiden Boozell, and many others.

Patrick loved all animals and especially enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. He enjoyed all types of music. Patrick was kind-hearted and loved his family. One of his favorite pastimes was taking car rides with his parents. Some of his greatest times were spent at the Douglas Learning Center at the YMCA. Patrick lived with his parents and they never considered having it any other way. They devoted their lives to taking care of Patrick and making sure he had a happy and fulfilled life. The family is thankful that they were able to spend one final Christmas with Patrick, exchanging gifts, laughter, and love, before he passed away a few hours later due to a heart attack. Patrick’s generosity carries on through the donation of his organs to assist other families whose loved ones are in need.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 27th, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Patrick.
